Our Mom

Our Mom

Getting up before the sun,
To go out for that little run.
That’s our mom

Always making time for us
Listening when times are tough
That’s our mom

Teasing her saying she worships the sun,
At Bloomington we have so much fun.
That’s our mom

The Indian Princess Scientist is oh so cool,
The grandkids love it when she comes to their school
That’s our mom

Making volcanoes on the porch
Playing volleyball by the light from a tiki torch
That’s our mom

Grandkids are her pride and joy
With imagination who needs a toy
That’s our mom

Making each child feel like they are the best
Never giving up on any test.
That’s our mom

Giving 100% is never enough
Waterfights in the kitchen can get a little rough
That’s our mom

Look your best she always said,
Never forget to make your bed
That’s our mom

Hiking is her favorite thing
Teaching children to love to sing
That’s our mom

Hunting and fishing with our dad
Killing a deer kind of makes her sad
That’s our mom

Of the Gospel she has a strong testimony
Teaching by example is her specialty
That’s our mom

A shopping trip she is always game
Life is never going to be the same
We love you mom.

Rothenburg Christmas Market

Rothenburg is one of my favorite cities in Germany.  If you have come to visit us, you have been there.  It is the coolest little medieval village, with it's cobblestone roads, and very neat old buildings.  I love the old wall that surrounds the city and the little shops that line the streets.  Since this year our kids are older and we have a little more money, we decided to get a hotel and stay overnight.  It was an amazing trip.  We stayed in a cute little guest house and walked the village and Christmas Market that night, then did the Night Watchman Tour before heading to bed.  The kids loved the Night Watchman Tour, he was very funny and we learned some interesting facts about the city.  The next morning we were up early for a walk along the wall.  Then more shopping, and a stop at a few museums. How can we forget the Gluhwein - Kinderpunch (Gluhwein is a hot red wein with holiday spices in it - the kinderpunch is an alochol free punch version) and crepes! It was a quick but very fun trip.

Back to the Blog

I was going through my list of bloggers I usually follow and would you know that only 4 of them have actually updated their blog in the last year.  Lori and Holly I need your blog links - I don't have you on my list or that would have made 6.  So I am ready to update and load a million pictures since I don't scrapbook anymore, and my new laptop doesn't have a drive for my memory card.  What?   So now I have to get the portable drive and down load the software so I can use it on my laptop.  Dang.  guess I won't be updating today.  Hopefully soon.  Stay posted.
